Finding Lost Voices: PUB DAY for Riding Like the Wind: The Life of Sanora Babb
A weekly email that brings back the voices of those who have been forgotten or misremembered.
I know, you are thinking, it’s not Friday, why am I getting a Finding Lost Voices post? The answer? Today is special day. It’s launch day for my biography Riding Like the Wind: The Life of Sanora Babb.
I’m thrilled that Sanora Babb’s story is getting out there. So far, there have been articles and reviews about my book in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Millions, The Los Angeles Times, Alta, The Bohemian, and The Press Democrat!
Read an excerpt from the book up at Salon: “Steinbeck mined her research for "The Grapes of Wrath." Then her own Dust Bowl novel was squashed”
Or listen to my conversation with the fantastic Lost Ladies of Lit where we discuss Sanora Babb’s remarkable Dust Bowl novel, Whose Names Are Unknown. And for those in the Los Angeles area, I’ll be LIVE in conversation with them tonight at Vronmen’s Books in Pasadena, CA.
Thank you to all of you who have been supporting my work! This Friday, we’ll be back to the regular schedule of weekly posts about women who have been forgotten or misremembered. As a special thank you to those who join with a yearly subscription this week, you’ll receive a free, signed copy of my biography on Sanora Babb.
